What comes in the puppy packet?

Breeding and raising animals is great until we send them off to their new family, a very bittersweet moment. We want to send them off right! When you come to pick up your puppy you will receive a goody bag, a blanket with mother’s scent to insure an easy transition into their new home. You will also receive AKC registration form to mail off or register online. The goody bag also contains a health record with previous vaccination history and deworming schedule. There is also a sample bag of Purina Pro Plan Sport 30/20 dog food.

Are the puppies vaccinated and dewormed?

Our puppies receive their first vaccine (Canine Distemper-Adenovirus Type 2- Parainfluenza-parvovirus) at 6 weeks old. At 3 weeks old the litter will start their deworming schedule, depending on their fecal results will determine what dewormer we use.

When can my puppy come home?

We start scheduling pickup times when the puppies are 6 weeks old. We like for our puppies to go home at 7-8 weeks old. At this age they are eating dry food.

Do you have to be local to purchase a puppy?

We love when our puppies get a new home near or far. We have traveled with our puppies to their new home, met clients at the New Orleans airport, and used canine transport. Purchasing a puppy from us makes you apart of our family, we will figure out a way for your newest family member to come home!

How much for a puppy?

Our puppies are very special to us, its hard to put a price on them after waiting months for a new litter, however we simply can not keep them all. Our prices vary from litter to litter and we even mature dogs available from time to time. There are many different variables, breed, age, color, and training.

When to send a deposit?

Your deposit will hold your spot for a puppy. Your deposit determines your pick number. If we have a litter with 8 puppies and we have 3 deposits already your spot will be number 4.

What if my puppy doesn’t work out or life gets to be too much?

We know all too well that life can throw curve balls and we completely understand if having a puppy is too much. At any point in your Six Hitch puppy’s life it will have a guaranteed home with us.
